Lee's Summit Autism Support Group will not have a meeting in August, 2010. Instead please join us at Summit Waves Swim Park in Lee's Summit for a free event for special needs kids and their families. We will be hosting this free event on August 3 from 8:30 - 10:30 pm. Come join us at 120 SW Blue Parkway. We hope to see you there. Please call the office if you have any questions regarding this event. Our next regular meeting will occur on September 7, 2010 at 7 pm at the Firefighters Union Hall, 322 S. Douglas in downtown Lee's Summit. Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome everyone to come and join us. If you are looking for support or have questions join us.
UPDATED - Very exciting news. Lee's Summit Autism Support Group has opened an office in downtown Lee's Summit as of June 18, 2010. We will keep a library there of possible resource books for parents to check out. This is a free service. Additionally as of July 8, 2010, LSASG has officially filed with the IRS to become a 501c3 non-profit corporation. This allows us to be recognized as a charity. Charitable donations made by individuals and corporations can then be used as a tax deduction on their individual and corporate tax returns. This allows us to grow as a corporation and offer more services to our members.
